This puncher was tested with a .45 Maxi-ball bullet and the .45 Eras Gone mold
If you have another 45 caliber bullet you want to use with this puncher, and are not sure about the fit. The precise measurement of the diameter is 0.446in.
Have you ever wondered how the bullet manufacturers lube their bullets? Well, some of course use what is called a "Lubrisizer," which also sizes the bullet to a uniform width and compresses the lube into the grooves at the same time.
For muzzleloader bullets, that's overkill and probably would make the bullets less accurate.
Traditionally, muzzleloader bullets are pan lubed. You fill the pan with bullets and put it in the oven with a block of lube. After it cools you can pop the bullets out, and the lube is automatically cut out with the bullet.
The problem arises when the bullets are close to each other in the pan. The lube tends to break off. It's a pain in the neck.
Our pan lubing kit comes with some lube, a pan, and a cutter, sized exactly to the width of the bullet. It cuts the bullets out of the pan of lube.
You can do many batches of bullets with the one 3.5oz block supplied with the kit. Our pan is straight walled, so you can lube right up to the last few bullets by merely adding a rock or something heavy to the pan so that the lube reaches up high enough on the bullet to fill the grooves.
The top of the cutter has a punch, so you just push each bullet out as you cut them. It is super easy, and really a revolutionary design.
