Our newest bullet for 44 caliber cap 'n ball pistols is not a historical copy. It is a semi-wadcutter design, available as mold 45-200S at Accurate Molds. In pure lead, this bullet is about 200 grains, and has a nice wide lube groove perfect for dipping paper cartridges. A side benefit is that this bullet is flat on top, so you can rest them on a flat surface instead of getting lube all over your loading blocks or range boxes. If there was ever a bullet designed for the easy production of 44 paper cartridges, it is this guy. All of our bullets are hand cast as a service to our customers so they can use their kits. They are subject to imperfections of all pure lead cast bullets. Uniform measure, consistent weight, but expensive for plain lead

The majority of these bullets are just over 200 gr; a small percentage are 198-199 gr. The bullet measures .460-.461; the heel .439-.440, so cylinder insertion is easy to manage and seal is assured.
However, at $.40 each, no matter how well designed or produced, these bullets are more than double the cost of the typical lead .45 ACP of this weight. Why not offer boxes of 100 or 500 at reduced prices?
